The Practice started as a large animal practice by David based in Aldreth, near Hadenham, in 1989. Cathy, David's wife, joined the Practice in February 1991 with the small animal surgery opening later that year. With the success of the practice, the number of vets increased and the practice expanded in Aldreth until we outgrew the site.

In Jaunary 2000 the practice divided in to small animal and large animal sites with the opening of the new large animal unit at Wardy Hill.

In May 2000 a small animal branch was opened at Littleport.

In September 2006, having outgrown the Aldreth and Littleport sites, the small animal practice combined onto one site in a spacious, purpose built, surgery on West Fen Road, Ely. This amalgamation allowed the Isle Vet Group to provide an improved service to clients having all staff and facilites on one site. The new surgery has four vet consulting rooms, two nurse consulting rooms, separate dog and cat wards, a dedicated orthpeadic theatre, a general theatre and a dental theatre. There is also living accomodation above the surgery.

We are currently entering the final phase of construction of the all-new large animal site, which is based alongside the small animal site at West Fen Road Ely, Cambridgeshire. To keep updated with the progress just look on our web site.
