Our nurses are essential to the smooth running of the practice. They provide assistance to the vets, monitor anaesthetics, look after inpatients and run nurse clinics and puppy parties.
We are fortunte to have an excellent team of nurses including five qualified nurses, Sam (head nurse), Tara, Sally and Maria, and Gaby, who is a final year trainee. We also have Terri and Melinda, who are animal care assistants, and Sally, a locum nurse. Samantha Knightley qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2004. Sam is our head nurse, and came to us from a referral practice. she is currently training for her A1 assesor qualification, and has an interest in canine bahaviour.
Tara Rose qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in Spring 2008 in Edinburgh, and moved down south with her husband in Winter 2008.
Sally Favell qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in Summer 2008. Sally has a particular interest in diagnostic imaging (Radiography). Outside of work Sally spends most of her time with her horses and Mandy her dog.
Maria Day is a registered veterinary nurse. Maria runs the nursing clinics on most Saturday mornings. Maria is a keen breeder of Border Terriers.
Gaby Lambert is a student veterinary nurse hoping qualify and register in Summer 2010. Gaby is responsible for organising puppy parties and has a keen interest in dog training and behaviour.
Terri Smith is a qualified Animal Nursing Assistant.
Melinda Sharp has worked on and off as an animal nursing assistant for many years and joined Isle Vets in this role in 2009.
Sally Harrison is a locum nurse who has been with us on and off for many years. Sally is very experienced and has earnt herself the nickname of the "cat whisperer". |
